Facebook falls to half of public offering price

NEW YORK (AP) – Facebook's stock fell to $19 for the first time on Friday, losing half its market value since the company's initial public offering in May.

Do You Want to Get Invested into the Next big Social Media Network before any body else gets the chance.

The stock dipped 87 cents, or 4%, to briefly hit $19, just minutes before it closed the trading day at $19.05. Facebook's shares ended the week down nearly 13%.

Facebook (FB) hit the $19 milestone a day after the expiration of a lock-up period that had previously prevented some early investors and insiders from selling their shares. Stakeholders who owned a combined 271 million Facebook shares before Thursday can now sell their holdings.

A breakdown of just how many major Facebook Inc. shareholders sold their stock this week won't be available until next week at the earliest, when sellers must disclose such transactions.

Facebook's stock has struggled since the company's mid-May IPO. It closed its first day of trading barely above its initial offering price of $38. It has been below that level since.

The stock has been down on 38 trading days, up on 25 days and unchanged on one since its initial public offering.

Investors have been concerned about the social network's ability to increase revenue and make money from its growing mobile audience. Many analysts, however, hold positive opinions of the company's long-term prospects.

Police Officer Arrested for being the Victim of a sick Joke

By The Associated Press

WOODLAND PARK — A Passaic County police officer sent a 12-year-old girl explicit photos of himself in uniform and tried to set up a sexual encounter with her, days after meeting the girl while assisting her family in an unrelated police matter, authorities said today.

Woodland Park Police Officer Steven Vigorito Jr. pleaded not guilty in Superior Court in Paterson to charges ranging from attempted aggravated sexual assault to luring and enticing a child.

He was being held in lieu of $250,000 bail following his arrest while on duty Tuesday night. A message left after-hours for the public defender who represented him at the arraignment was not returned.

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes said the girl’s mother complained to the police department Monday that the officer had made inappropriate comments to her daughter, had given her his private cell phone number and had asked her to text him.

Woodland Park Police Chief Anthony Galietti said they immediately contacted the prosecutor’s office, whose detectives posed as the girl and started exchanging texts with Vigorito.

The texts became increasingly explicit over the course of several days, prosecutors said. Vigorito eventually texted the girl photographs in which he was exposing himself while wearing his police uniform and arranged to meet her for a sexual encounter, prosecutors alleged.

The girl was never in harm’s way, and never exchanged texts with the officer, Valdes said.

"What is so disturbing about this, is the person who was to assist the family, ends up preying on the family," Valdes said.

The 39-year-old Vigorito has been with the police department for 12 years in Woodland Park, a small suburb about 15 miles from Manhattan. The town, known until a recent voter-approved name change as West Paterson, is a bucolic, leafy borough of neatly landscaped homes adjacent to Paterson, a grittier, more industrialized urban neighbor.

Vigorito, who New York television station WABC-7 reported is a married father of two, was arrested Tuesday night in the police station while on the night shift,

according to Galietti, who said the patrolman was suspended without pay pending the outcome of the investigation.

The arrest of one of the 25 officers on the force has shaken the small department, Galietti said.

"It’s very upsetting, when you have one of your own do something like this. It’s very upsetting," he said. Galietti added that department officials had acted immediately upon receiving the family’s complaint about the officer, and had no hesitation in alerting the prosecutor’s office.

"When this came to light we went into it head-on. We didn’t care if it was one of our own," he said. "I’m the father of five kids, and this is wrong. It’s a very inappropriate situation. Unfortunately, he (Vigorito) had a badge at the time."

Santorum Proves Unfit for Presidency with Bible Attack

COMMENTARY | Republican presidential contender Rick Santorum effectively disqualified himself from the office of the presidency today. Speaking in Ohio, Santorum revealed his inability to govern a pluralistic society. The truth emerged in the context of an attack on President Barack Obama, whose agenda he claimed is "about some phony ideal. Some phony theology. Not a theology based on the Bible. A different theology," according to the Associated Press.
For a man running for president to suggest governmental policy should be based on the Bible raises a red flag that proves his unfitness for the job. Santorum calling non-Bible-based religion phony tells voters he will only represent Christians. The U.S. is not a theologically defined society but one governed by a Constitution, whose First Amendment precludes government establishment of religion. The government cannot base public policy on the Christian Bible without running afoul of this governing principle.

Oakland Raiders: Reggie's Got To Go!!

Who does he think he is?? Honestly, maybe he didn't watch anything last season, Stanford Routt was worth every dime in 2011. This will prove to backfire on the Raiders next Season. If Reggie doesn't stop to notice what he's doing, he will ruin the teams trade value. Many teams would've traded a good DE, or a higher draft pick for him, waiving him to save the bonus money??? Get out of town, before the mob comes to get ya!!!

Let's Give a round of Applause for the Politicians!!

The Dreadliest problem that many never get the chance to experience, is ordering a plate that will feed the next six generations, but its divided into six portions, so those who are on top stay on top.  I see it as a simple game of supply and command.  A game where there are no rules for conduct, because the few that are playing aren't taking their turn, so they stay put knowing that they're safe where they are at, and until they are found why chance it?

The rest of us wish life could stay motionless, at least for the moment before it takes off again.  Many like myself live a life that feels like a roller-coaster, but derailing, picking up the sled and getting it back on track and give it another go!  Why allow an opportunity like such to occur, if the probability relies soley upon oneself.  For example, don't think to far ahead, eliminate the possibility of ideas that may end up going bad.
