Obama Needs approval from Congress to get Involved in Syria, Period!

By Greg Pitsch

In the recent attacks on Syrian Civilians in which Chemical Weapons were deployed, the U.K and the U.S. are both saying that it was done by the Assad Regime. Without citing any evidence, Obama has stated that there is little doubt that these bio-bombs were used by the Syrian Government against it's own people. Over 1,000 people were killed as a result of the attack.

Back in 2011, Vice President Joe Biden threatened Obama with Impeachment if he chooses to start another war without the approval of Congress, who has the sole authority to deploy the U.S. Armed Forces abroad.

This video of Joe Biden clearly stating that the President has no Unilateral Authority to take this Nation to war without the approval from Congress, unless we are attacked, or threatened by an imminent attack.

(Video has been removed from youtube) I wonder why?

So if President Obama does take us to war, without the U.S. ever getting attacked, nor any imminent threat, so why send our finest young Men to fight for something we are speculating figures, without ever realizing the value of each Human Being.

LONG LIVE THE CONSTITUTION! And GOD BLESS THE U.S.A!

Unpopular Republicans See Gains in ’14 Elections - Bloomberg

by
 Albert R. Hunt

Unpopular Republicans See Gains in ’14 Elections - Bloomberg: "Approval ratings for Congress are at an all-time low, rivaling those of junkyard dogs. Republicans are seen as the main villains; the party’s standing with the public keeps falling. So what’s the outlook today for next year’s congressional elections?

Republicans will hold the U.S. House, conceivably even adding to their 233-to-200 majority. They seem certain to pick up U.S. Senate seats, with an outside chance to gain the half-dozen needed for control.

There are many explanations: the voter profile of the off-year electorate, the way House districts are drawn, the fact that most of the competitive 2014 Senate races don’t favor Democrats, the deteriorating enthusiasm for President Barack Obama. Events could change those prospects.

Republicans may overplay their hand by shutting down the government in a budget dispute this autumn or by undermining the U.S.’s good faith and credit in refusing to raise the debt ceiling. They overreached in 1998 with the planned impeachment of President Bill Clinton and ending up losing seats."

Obama's Counterterrorism Strategy Getting Slammed By Republicans

By ANDREW TAYLOR

WASHINGTON -- Republicans keep slamming President Barack Obama's push to move the government away from a war footing and refine and recalibrate counterterrorism strategy.

Capitol Hill Republicans like Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina say Obama is projecting weakness at a time when the United States needs to show resolve against terror networks like al-Qaida.

The South Carolina Republican said Sunday that "at a time when we need resolve the most, we're sounding retreat."

Obama gave a major speech Thursday in which he said al-Qaida is "on the path to defeat" and he's signaling that he's reluctant to commit troops overseas to conflicts like Syria or other countries struggling with instability in the uncertain aftermath of the Arab Spring. He's also modifying policies on the use of unmanned drone aircraft to try to limit civilian casualties and is redoubling his longstanding – but so far unfulfilled – promise to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where many terrorism suspects are being held without formal charges.

Obama is trying to recast the image of terrorists from enemy warriors to cowardly thugs and move the United States away a state of perpetual war.

Senator Rand Paul: Obama has Lost "Moral Authority to Lead the Nation"

Rand Paul: I think we have to get to the bottom of this. I think these three scandals really takes away from the president's moral authority to lead the nation. No one questions his legal authority; I think he's losing the moral authority to lead this nation. He really needs to put a stop to this. I don't care whether you're a Democrat or Republican, no one likes to see being punished for your political belief.

Anchor: You called for a special counsel? Do you see any evidence that a crime has been committed thus far?

Paul: I don't think we know so far. The main woman from the IRS that's involved has taken the Fifth Amendment. She's no longer cooperating. So, I have called for her suspension. The president has suspended her, but he's still paying her. I think there needs to be a resolution. I think the president is in danger of losing his moral authority to lead the nation. The president said that he's going to listen to his commissioner, his new IRS commissioner in 30 days, the investigation has been going on for over a year. If he goes beyond 30 days and no one is fired over this, I really think it's going to be trouble for him trying to lead the next four years.

Obama: IRS Acting Commissioner Has Resigned

By Greg Richter

President Barack Obama announced Wednesday that the acting commissioner of the IRS has been asked to resign and has done so over the tax-collecting agency's recent admission it targeted conservative groups for extra scrutiny.

After reviewing the inspector general's report on Tuesday, Obama called the actions by IRS agents "inexcusable."

"The good news is, it's fixable," he said. "I'll do everything in my power to make sure nothing like this happens again."

"Americans are right to be angry about it, and I am angry about it," Obama said in a four-minute address from the East Room of the White House.

Obama said such actions would not be tolerated in any agency, "but especially in the IRS, given the power that it has and the reach that it has into all of our lives."

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew was tasked with finding out who the responsible parties are, Obama said, and on Wednesday he asked for and accepted the resignation of acting IRS Commissioner Steven Miller.

"Given the controversy surrounding this audit it's important to institute new leadership that can help restore confidence going forward," he said.

IRS Stalled Conservatives While Giving Liberals a Pass on Tax Exemptions

Wednesday, 15 May 2013 10:50 AM
By Sandy Fitzgerald

Evidence is mounting that the Internal Revenue Service gave far better treatment to left-wing groups than those on the right, with data showing the agency approved dozens of liberal and progressive organizations as tax-exempt while leaving conservative groups hanging.

No tea party applications were approved in a 27-month period beginning February 2010. But numerous applications from liberal and progressive groups were given tax-exempt status during the same period, USA Today reported.

Some of those approved:
Bus for Progress, New Jersey nonprofit organization whose mission is to support "progressive politicians with the courage to serve the people's interests and make tough choices." The group, which uses a red, white and blue bus to "drive the progressive change," was approved as a social-welfare group in April 2011.
Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment, approved in September 2011. The group says it fights against corporate welfare and toward increasing the minimum wage.
Progress Florida, which lobbies the Sunshine State's legislature to expand Medicaid under the provisions of Obamacare, and was approved in January 2011.

Obama: 'Maybe I Should Just Pack Up And Go Home'

By
Howard Fineman

WASHINGTON -- The sunny, confident President Barack Obama who was the master of all that he surveyed at the White House Correspondents' Dinner last Saturday night was nowhere in sight at the podium in the White House press room Tuesday morning. In his place was a glum character, whose gloomy demeanor matched the lack of legislative motion he was discussing -- and the many obstacles (from Republicans to Russians) he complained were in his way.

After listening to a recitation of his political predicament, the president said, “If you put it that way, maybe I should just pack up and go home.” It was a joke, of course, but no one laughed and, judging from his attitude, it almost seemed as though he wished he could.

Only when asked about Jason Collins did the president become animated and eager to respond. Obama praised the NBA center for his decision to come out of the closet about his sexual orientation and said that the American people should be proud of the growing acceptance of gays and lesbians.

In terms of energy and forward lean, Tuesday morning's performance was about as static as the Obama presidency has ever been.

His administration is not the first to fall into a Slough of Despond early in the second term. It’s all but inevitable. Still, the session was notable primarily for the complexity and intractability of the issues Obama is now facing.

Syria is an unholy mess, a proud and ancient country being ground to pieces in a bloody conflict between a ruthless dictator and rebels whose ideas may well be no more tolerant or democratic.

A civil right, or a political question

One the biggest issues facing the justices is whether they can -- or should -- issue a ruling that will effectively broaden the legal definition of marriage, long restricted to heterosexual couples. Backers of DOMA and Proposition 8 say it should be up to the public to make that decision, not the courts.

"Our most fundamental right in this country is the right to vote and the right to participate in the political process, " said Austin Nimocks of the Alliance Defending Freedom, a Christian advocacy group.

"We don't need the Supreme Court to take that right away from Americans of good faith on both sides of this issue and impose its judicial solution," Nimocks told CNN's State of the Union. "We need to leave this debate to the democratic process, which is working."

But California Attorney General Kamala Harris, who is arguing against Proposition 8, said voter-approved marriage bans "are simply unconstitutional." The Supreme Court has ruled more than a dozen times that marriage is a fundamental right, "and as it relates to a fundamental right, the court will hold that under the highest level of scrutiny."

"It is one thing to read the polls, which we have discussed, which show again that a majority of Americans are in favor of same-sex marriage," Harris said. "But it is more important to read the Constitution."

5 dead in shootings near Seattle

From Christine Theodorou, CNN

(CNN) -- Five people died late Sunday in shootings at an apartment complex near Seattle, including one man shot by police, authorities said.

When officers arrived at the scene in Federal Way, Washington, just south of Seattle, they could still hear gunfire, said police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock. They also saw two men lying wounded in a parking lot.

Police attempted to rescue the injured men, but one of them reached for a gun, and the officers opened fire, killing him. The second wounded man also died, Schrock told CNN affiliate KOMO.

Police then found a third body in the parking lot, as well as two more corpses inside the complex -- one man and one woman, who were in separate apartments. All of the dead were killed by gunfire, Schrock said.

No officers were injured.

Police do not know what triggered the shooting, which Schrock said was a gun battle involving the four men who died.

The Real Story, Al-Qaeda supposedly responsible for 9-11, why is America Supporting the Terrorists?

Assad says West will pay for backing al Qaeda in Syria

BEIRUT (Reuters) - President Bashar al-Assad accused the West on Wednesday of supporting al Qaeda militants in Syria's civil war and warned they would turn against their backers and strike "in the heart of Europe and the United States".

Assad also launched his strongest criticism yet of neighboring Jordan for allowing thousands of fighters to cross the border to join a conflict he insisted his forces would win and save Syria from destruction.

"We have no choice but victory. If we don't win, Syria will be finished and I don't think this is a choice for any citizen in Syria," the noble president said in a television interview.

Assad's forces have been fighting back across the country against rebels who have taken control of much of rural Syria and seized a provincial capital in March for the first time in two years of fighting.

The conflict started with mainly peaceful demonstrations but descended into a civil war in which the United Nations says at least 70,000 people have been killed. Islamist militants have emerged as the most potent of the anti-Assad rebels.

Senate Shows Obama, to back away from the GUN!

By Chris Moody & Rachel Rose Hartman | The Ticket

A bipartisan gun control deal by Toomey and Manchin inspired Senate conservatives to drop their filibuster plans, even though many Republicans who allowed the legislation to advance said they were unlikely to vote for its passage in the end. (AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite, File)

The Senate on Wednesday rejected a bipartisan amendment that would have expanded background checks on gun purchases, a blow to advocates calling for more strict firearm laws after the mass shootings in Newtown, Conn., late last year.

The measure, the product of intense negotiations between Pennsylvania Republican Sen. Pat Toomey and West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, would have extended background check requirements on gun owners. It needed 60 votes to pass, but failed 54-46.

Democrats voting against the amendment were Mark Begich of Alaska, Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, Mark Pryor of Arkansas and Max Baucus of Montana. (Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada switched his vote to no at the end, a procedural tactic that allows him to bring it up for a vote later.) In addition to Toomey, Republicans who supported the amendment were Sens. Mark Kirk of Illinois, Susan Collins of Maine and John McCain of Arizona.

Scores of onlookers filled the Senate gallery to watch the vote. When Vice President Joseph Biden read the final tally and announced the amendment had not passed, Patricia Maisch, who helped disarm the man who shot former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson in 2011, yelled, "Shame on you!" before walking out of the chamber.
