Senator Rand Paul: Obama has Lost "Moral Authority to Lead the Nation"

Rand Paul: I think we have to get to the bottom of this. I think these three scandals really takes away from the president's moral authority to lead the nation. No one questions his legal authority; I think he's losing the moral authority to lead this nation. He really needs to put a stop to this. I don't care whether you're a Democrat or Republican, no one likes to see being punished for your political belief.

Anchor: You called for a special counsel? Do you see any evidence that a crime has been committed thus far?

Paul: I don't think we know so far. The main woman from the IRS that's involved has taken the Fifth Amendment. She's no longer cooperating. So, I have called for her suspension. The president has suspended her, but he's still paying her. I think there needs to be a resolution. I think the president is in danger of losing his moral authority to lead the nation. The president said that he's going to listen to his commissioner, his new IRS commissioner in 30 days, the investigation has been going on for over a year. If he goes beyond 30 days and no one is fired over this, I really think it's going to be trouble for him trying to lead the next four years.

Big Blast at Texas Fertilizer Plant, Causes town to catch fire!

(Reuters) - Authorities in Texas reported a large explosion on Wednesday at a fertilizer plant in the town of West, near Waco, and local media said that there were a number of injuries reported.

The blast, reported shortly before 8 p.m. CDT (0100 GMT on Thursday), was confirmed to Reuters by Waco police dispatch operators, who could not immediately confirm reports of damage or injuries.

The Waco Tribune newspaper, in an online account, quoted an emergency dispatcher calling for multiple ambulances and saying, "we have a lot of injured here."
The Tribune said several buildings were reported to be on fire, including a middle school in West, a town of some 2,700 people about 80 miles south of Dallas and 20 miles north of Waco.

Alex Jones: Bombing Drill coincided with the Boston Marathon Massacre

While the country was trying to process the terror as it unfolded at the Boston Marathon on Monday, Alex Jones, a right-wing radio host, took to Twitter to express his sympathy for the victims.

"Our hearts go out to those that are hurt or killed," Jones wrote. "But this thing stinks to high heaven #falseflag."

The "false flag" attack Jones was referring to is a term that originated during naval warfare. "For centuries, ships have sailed under a flag identifying their nationality," The Atlantic Wire noted. "During times of war, ships would sometimes change the national flag they flew in order to fool other vessels that they sought to attack or escape from. They would fly, in other words, a 'false flag.'"

Jones posted a YouTube video further fanning the false-flag flames, saying that reports of a "controlled explosion” drill, scheduled to coincide with the race, was proof that the FBI was behind the Boston Marathon blasts.

The clip was pulled from YouTube, Fox removed the episode from Hulu, and Seth MacFarlane, the show's creator, responded to the conspiracy claim.

U.S. District Judge William Shubb sentenced 44-year-old Uriel Ochoa-Espindola to 17.5 years in prison for growing tens of thousands of marijuana plants in three different counties in California with his partners and shipping the product across the country with the help of commercial trucks, according to court documents.

“This was his operation,” Judge Shubb noted, holding Espindola responsible for the weapons his partners and workers used to run their operation.

Senate Shows Obama, to back away from the GUN!

The Senate on Wednesday rejected a bipartisan amendment that would have expanded background checks on gun purchases, a blow to advocates calling for more strict firearm laws after the mass shootings in Newtown, Conn., late last year.

The measure, the product of intense negotiations between Pennsylvania Republican Sen. Pat Toomey and West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, would have extended background check requirements on gun owners. It needed 60 votes to pass, but failed 54-46.

Democrats voting against the amendment were Mark Begich of Alaska, Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, Mark Pryor of Arkansas and Max Baucus of Montana. (Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada switched his vote to no at the end, a procedural tactic that allows him to bring it up for a vote later.) In addition to Toomey, Republicans who supported the amendment were Sens. Mark Kirk of Illinois, Susan Collins of Maine and John McCain of Arizona.

Scores of onlookers filled the Senate gallery to watch the vote. When Vice President Joseph Biden read the final tally and announced the amendment had not passed, Patricia Maisch, who helped disarm the man who shot former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson in 2011, yelled, "Shame on you!" before walking out of the chamber.

Colorado secession petition has 21,900 signatures

WASHINGTON — The desire to secede from the union is older than the United States itself — but technology has made the effort a lot easier.

Some 21,900 people have signed an online petition submitted to the White House "peacefully" asking the federal government to grant the state of Colorado permission to secede from the United States and create its own government.

It was started by "Lynette A." in Golden and has been signed by thousands of people using just one name all across the nation — not just the Centennial State — who have likely signed similar petitions for the two dozen or so other states that have submitted similarly worded requests.

"Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and institute new government," the petition says.

This form of rebellion isn't new. White House officials say every year people submit petitions for state secession
— they usually arrive around the time of a presidential election that undoubtedly a large percentage of the country is unhappy with.

Total Solar Eclipse Today is Last Until 2015

The skies over a slice of northern Australia will darken for a few minutes today as the planet experiences its first total solar eclipse in more than two years.

Today's total solar eclipse — the first since July 2010 and the last until March 2015 — begins at 3:35 p.m. EST (2035 GMT) today, which corresponds to shortly after dawn Wednesday (Nov. 14) local time in Australia. Weather permitting, will be visible from slivers of the continent's Northern Territory and state of Queensland, as well as a large, empty stretch of the Pacific Ocean.

More than 50,000 spectators are expected to watch the celestial event from Queensland, according to tourism officials. But forecasts of cloudy weather may put a damper on their viewing experience, according to media reports.

Most of the world's population will be far from the eclipse's path. But anyone with access to the Internet can follow the action live, for several organizations will provide free webcasts of the alignment of sun and moon. Two such outfits are Tourism Tropical North Queensland and the Slooh Space Camera, which will begin their broadcasts at 1 p.m. EST (1800 GMT) and 2:30 p.m. EST (1930 GMT) on Tuesday, respectively.

With another Election in the books, it seems like American's have forgot why 'we the people' created our government that would help protect our god given rights. Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, is guaranteed, as unalienable rights endowed to us by our creator. Why is it that Last weeks election, showed why we have no liberty, few are really living, and almost nobody is happy anymore.

Well in case you were wondering why I said that the government is our slave? It starts with the simple fact that we didn't want to see such a large governing body, that believes it is above us due to size and strength. Now we can see it for what it is, because it is so obvious to all of us with a brain, that the Government wants to subdue or enslave the General Public. To make good on our National Debt, our government has put the public up as collateral for the Loans given to US by the Federal Reserve.

The sad thing is, that all assets owned by the Federal Government, is really owned by the people of this great country!

Why FEMA Isn't working, and why we need it CUT

ON Wednesday night, as a fierce northeaster bore down on the weather-beaten Rockaways, the relief groups with a noticeable presence on the battered Queens peninsula were these: the National Guard, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Police and Sanitation Departments — and Occupy Sandy, a do-it-yourself outfit recently established by Occupy Wall Street.

This stretch of the coast remained apocalyptic, with buildings burned like Dresden and ragged figures shuffling past the trash heaps. There was still no power, and parking lots were awash with ruined cars. On Wednesday morning, as the winds picked up and FEMA closed its office “due to weather,” an enclave of Occupiers was huddled in a storefront amid the devastation, handing out supplies and trying to make sure that those bombarded by last month’s storm stayed safe and warm and dry this time.

Affluent Imagineer Mitt Romney has some exciting new proposals for the future of airplane design, according to some remarks he made to the LA Times at a fundraiser in Beverly Hills Saturday Night.

Romney was speaking to the Times about his chevalier Ann's brush with danger last week, when a plane on which she was a passenger was forced to make an emergency landing after an electrical fire caused the cabin to fill with smoke.

"When you have a fire in an aircraft, there's no place to go, exactly, there's no - and you can't find any oxygen from outside the aircraft to get in the aircraft, because the windows don't open. I don't know why they don't do that. It's a real problem. So it's very dangerous."

Rep. Walter Jones, a North Carolina Republican, has introduced H. Concurrent Resolution 107, which calls on the House, the Senate Concurring, to prevent Obama from starting another war without authorization from Congress. The resolution was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary on March 7.

Obama has violated article I, section 8, clause 11 of the Constitution.

Obama's unconstitutional decision to involve the U.S. in the illegal attack on Libya without the consent of Congress motivated at least some members of the House of Representatives to demand an explanation. On June 3 of last year, the House passed a resolution demanding that the president provide an explanation to the American people, a request that was ignored by Obama and his administration.

Rep. Jones' resolution states that any use of military force by Obama without explicit consent and authorization of Congress constitutes an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor under article II, section 4 of the Constitution.

It will be interesting to see if the resolution makes it out the Committee on the Judiciary. It was virtually ignored by the corporate establishment media.

The resolution reads as follows:

Mr. JONES submitted the following concurrent resolution; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

Expressing the sense of Congress that the use of offensive military force by a President without prior and clear authorization of an Act of Congress constitutes an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor under article II, section 4 of the Constitution.

Whereas the cornerstone of the Republic is honoring Congress's exclusive power to declare war under article I, section 8, clause 11 of the Constitution: Now, therefore, be it Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), That it is the sense of Congress that, except in response to an actual or imminent attack against the territory of the United States, the use of offensive military force by a President without prior and clear authorization of an Act of Congress violates Congress's exclusive power to declare war under article I, section 8, clause 11 of the Constitution and therefore constitutes an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor under article II, section 4 of the Constitution."

The U.S. economy is growing, albeit tepidly, and can continue to improve provided lawmakers address the fast-approaching “fiscal cliff” sooner rather than later, says Christine Lagarde, managing director at the International Monetary Fund, a multilateral lending institution.

The fiscal cliff will hit at the last day of the year, when Bush-era tax cuts and other tax holidays expire right when automatic spending cuts designated under the 2011 debt ceiling agreement kick in.

The combination of tax hikes and spending cuts at the same time could siphon billions out of the economy next year alone and derail recovery.

Congress can adjust the timing of the events.

"If those risks materialize, or if the threat of it grows, that could really, Number one, erode confidence and Number two, if they were to materialize, it could contract the U.S. economy that we see growing in 2012 at about 2 percent and 2.3 percent in 2013," Lagarde tells CNBC.

"But if these risks were to materialize, it would reduce that growth to almost nothing. The second downside risk is the risk coming from the outside. That is the eurozone. Deterioration of the situation in the eurozone area would be a risk to the U.S. recovery."

The sooner the government gets busy the better and that goes beyond temporary measures taken by the government.

"It would be far better, far better that it is addressed early on and before we get close to the risk. We think that the debt ceiling risk is likely to materialize very early in 2013, and I'm sure the Treasury Department can use certain tools and mechanism to push the deficit cliff a little bit into 2013," Lagarde says.

"If there was an agreement early on, it would be a serious confidence booster for the U.S. economy."

Some lawmakers are suggesting allowing the fiscal cliff to occur on January 1, 2013.

The logic, however, would be that after November's elections, a new government could quickly tackle the problem, as neither party wants the damage from the fiscal cliff to occur, and with the government flush in fresh tax revenues at the beginning of the year, a quick decision on adjusting tax hikes and spending cuts would cause only minimal damage, even if tax cuts, for example, were retroactive.

"My preference would not be to accept a lesser solution than you could get in February and March just to say that you got it done before the end of the year," say Senator Roy Blunt, a member of Republican leadership and congressional liaison to Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, according to Reuters.
