Ron Paul Wins First Caucus: MSM Changes Rules, Reports Romney Wins

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul secured his first caucus victory over the weekend, by winning 29 percent of the popular vote among the people of the U.S. Virgin Islands. However, the mainstream media decided to report that despite coming in second with 26 percent, Mitt Romney was the real winner.

The Republican Party of the U.S. Virgin Islands reported the results as “112 to Paul (29%), 101 to Romney (26%), 23 to Santorum (6%), 18 to Gingrich (5%),”

In response, The AP and other mainstream reports yesterday claimed that Mitt Romney won caucus, because he stands to come away with more delegates.

Ron Paul supporters and the campaign itself have been tirelessly pointing out that in many of the states that have already held primaries and caucuses, the amount of delegates the Congressman has secured does not always reflect his positioning in the straw polls. Indeed, in Iowa and New Hampshire Paul secured as many delegates as Romney and Santorum.

Yet the media has always reported the winner as the candidate who won the highest percentage in the popular vote.

Not so this time around. When Ron Paul secures a caucus victory, the media changes the rules and declares it is the delegate count that determines the real winner.


“The media is reporting that Mitt Romney won the U.S. Virgin Island Caucus when Ron Paul actually won the popular vote,” wrote the Paul campaign team in an email to supporters.

“If the popular vote means you’ve won, then Ron Paul just won the U.S. Virgin Island Caucus. If collecting delegates equals victory, then Paul stands to do well there too.” the Paul campaign added.

Paul’s official campaign blogger Jack Hunter explains how the media changed the rules below:

Romney stands to win more delegates because, like some US states, The Virgin Islands directly elect delegates in a process that is separate from the caucuses. The six delegates with the most support get to go to the national convention.

As such, Romney won three delegates plus three more via RNC member pledges. He also picked up a uncommitted delegate after the balloting, to bring his total delegates to seven. Ron Paul will take one delegate.

However, the facts show that Ron Paul unquestionably “won” the U.S. Virgin Island Caucus, in the same way Santorum “won” Iowa, Romney “won” New Hampshire, and Gingrich “won” South Carolina.

Portions of the mainstream media know this is the case, and have blatantly ignored it, simply because they do not wish to see Paul, the only anti-establishment candidate, doing well in the race.

The next states to hold primary elections are Mississippi and Alabama. Caucuses will also be held in Hawaii and the American Samoa this Tuesday.

Haley Barbour Tells ABC News, 'Somebody Else Might Get In"

Could the battle for the Republican nomination go all the way to the Republican convention in August? Could we see an entirely new candidate getting into the race?

One long-time Republican leader tells ABC News the answer to both questions is yes.

"If the Republican primary voters continue to split up their votes in such a way that nobody is close to having a majority, then there is a chance that somebody else might get in," former Republican Party chairman Haley Barbour said in an interview with ABC News. Barbour calls such a scenario unlikely, but not out of the question.

"I think the odds of having a contested convention are not good but the fact that we are where we are and there is actually a possibility, I guess this is why there is so much talk," he said.

A contested convention would mean another six months of Republicans battling Republicans, but Barbour says that's not necessarily bad for the party.

"It is not accurate to say that a hotly contested convention is necessarily bad," Barbour said. "I am not saying it is necessarily good, but I don't think it is accurate to say it is necessarily bad. Let's just see."

Barbour, who has not endorsed any candidate, says Mitt Romney has never really been a true front-runner.

Today an ardent student of history and outspoken defender of the U.S. Constitution, Paul R. Curtman graduated from Pacific High School in 1999. He subsequently enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country as an infantryman with Golf Co. 2nd Battalion 3rd Marines. As a Sergeant in the Marines, Paul deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

After leaving active duty, Paul continued his service as a Marines Reservist for six years. During that time, Paul attended the University of Missouri-St. Louis, where he earned a bachelors’ degree in Political Science. Upon graduation, he became licensed as a Series 7 Investment Representative and employed at a major investment firm.

Survival of the Richest!

       Seeming that almost everyday I wake up, and want to know what we can do to survive as the Human race.  Because we are destroying this beautiful planet of ours, PEOPLE PLEASE!! DO NOT IGNORE SCIENCE!! We should all be doing our part to protect our home.  I would like to explore the possibility that the Earth's Expiration date is December 21st 2012, and how unprepared most people will be. 

I have always been very keen towards Math and Science, they were my two favorite subjects as an adolescent.  The main things that attracted me to these subjects are the answers are so concrete, math has been set in stone, for Thousands of years, yet each question/problem has only one answer/solution.  You are either right or wrong, close doen't count.  These same rules apply to spelling, grammar, pre-nunciation, and even History to an extent.

I believe American Students are deterred from Math & Sceince related Careers, because of the undeniable distractions the children of today deal with; TVs, Computers, Video Games, Chores, Homework, After-School Sports, Part-time Jobs, Cell Phones, BOY/GIRL problems, kids, and even Friends.  Some kids have more than those few I listed.  I am a strong believer, that we need to get our children to have limits on their workload. 

I know first hand how all of these actvities are a privilige, but I had parents that could afford all of these,  all the tasks daily demanded my focus, in order to juggle it along with my senior year of High School.  I decided not to take a Senior Math Class, nor Sceince, because the R.O.P. (Regional Occupation Program) class I chose was good for credit in these subjects. 

For some these two subjects aren't as interesting as others, because they are too difficult to understand.  Or even if you understand it, you still might not solve them problem correctly, and during any steps you take, one mistake will lead you to the wrong solution. 

I think if we take a bulk of the distractions away from children, they would be able to find more time to learn these subjects.  These are the two most important fields to venture into, yet they are now America's two least competitive field against other countries.  Let's find a way to get back on the TOP!
