What Is the Children Learning? CA Pushes Gay History Into State Curriculum

Never mind that homosexuality is an extremely divisive issue, in California classrooms it is not enough merely to tolerate—teachers are required to advocate.

SB 48, the so-called gay history bill, was signed by California's Governor Jerry Brown with the ironic statement that "history must be honest". Yet this law explicitly prohibits honesty in the classroom.

It was pushed through California's radical legislature supposedly as a further weapon in the war on bullying. But the law says nothing about bullying. Instead it mandates that all social science classes, starting at kindergarten, add curriculum that is positive toward lesbian, gay, transgender and bisexual accomplishments in the social sciences, including history. But even more, it outlaws curriculum that "reflects adversely" on these same groups. SB 48 also prohibits a parent opting out of this radical curriculum.

So what harm is there in only saying positive things about a group of people and avoiding saying anything bad? In a social science class, this could present a rather distorted view of the world. Recently a group of gay activists was invited to the White House. Some media outlets found it newsworthy when a few of those activists posed for pictures while making rude finger gestures at a portrait of Ronald Reagan. In California, post SB48, a newspaper story recounting this ugly display would be banned in any school current events class.

Even faithfully liberal voices like the Los Angeles Times criticized the misguided law by noting, "Real history is richer and more complicated than feel good depictions."

A broad coalition is backing a ballot initiative called the CLASS Act. The Children Learning Accurate Social Science Act demands that social science curriculum include individuals based on their contributions to society, not their sexual orientation. And it goes further to require that no person is left out of books or instruction based solely on their sexual preference.

We need your help! There is less than a week left to collect the necessary signatures to put the CLASS Act on the California ballot. Supporters of the CLASS Act need signatures and additional funding to get their message out.

It is easy to see why Californians might take the time to help with this cause, but why would those who live outside the Golden State care? California is not Las Vegas. Ron Paul’s Campaign Raised $3.3 Million in February

Ron Paul’s inability to win a single state through this election season is now affecting his ability to raise money.

February fundraising figures show Paul raised about $3.3 million for the month, less than the $4.5 million in January and beginning March with $1.6 million on hand.
The Texas congressman’s campaign filed the report with the Federal Election Commission tonight, four days before the March 20 deadline.

Paul had been a prolific fundraiser. By the end of January he had raised $31 million, placing his second to Mitt Romney among his GOP rivals.

The bulk of the money coming from small-dollar donations, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a non-partisan, non-profit research group dedicated to tracking money in U.S. politics.

Paul’s campaign does not have “bundlers,” people assigned to raise large amounts of money for the campaign.

Politico reported earlier this month that Endorse Liberty, one of the large Super PAC’s supporting Paul was reassessing its heavy financial support.

Endorse Liberty has tried to use online advertisements to broaden Paul’s appeal. But the Super PAC too is running thin on available cash. Through January, it reported less than $61,000 on hand.

Dozens arrested protesting education cuts at California

SACRAMENTO, California (Reuters) - Dozens of protesters angry over fee hikes and budget cuts at California's public universities were arrested on Monday night during a boisterous but peaceful demonstration inside the state Capitol building.

The arrests capped a day in which hundreds of students and others marched on the statehouse and rallied outside the Capitol before many of the activists moved the demonstration inside the building, clogging hallways in and around the rotunda.

One group chanted, "No cuts, no fees. Education must be free," as they sat crossed-legged on the black-and-white tiled floor of the statehouse. The California Highway Patrol, which provides security for the building, said the demonstrators had a permit to protest inside the Capitol until 5:30 p.m. local time, and then were ordered to leave.

Police warned the protesters seven times after the building closed at 6 p.m. that they faced arrest for trespassing if they failed to disperse, and officers moved in to begin taking the demonstrators into custody at about 7:30 p.m.

"We wanted to give them every opportunity," CHP Captain Andy Menard said, adding that the estimated 45 to 50 demonstrators arrested were all given one last chance to leave the building before they were taken into custody.

"The ones who didn't are going to jail," he said.

The demonstration drew words of support from Governor Jerry Brown, a Democrat, who issued a statement saying the protesters "are reflecting the frustration of millions of Californians who have seen their public schools and universities eroded year after year."

He urged public support for a ballot initiative in November calling for a temporary tax increase to raise additional revenues for public education in the state, which is facing a $9.2 billion budget shortfall.

Some of the demonstrators also sought to collect signatures for a petition to put a measure on the ballot that would impose an extra 1 percent tax on individuals with annual incomes of $1 million or more.

Iran has established an “operational relationship” with al-Qaida’s core leadership amid fears the terror organization is planning a spectacular attack against the West, according to a troubling new report.

Sky News reports that the attack could come in retaliation for the killing of Osama bin-Laden last year, or as retaliation for any strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities. And a likely target of the terrorist attack would be the Olympic Games to be held this summer in London.

Iran has been supplying al-Qaida with training in the use of advanced explosives, funding, and a safe haven “as part of a deal first worked out in 2009 which has now led to ‘operational capacity,’” the Sky News website disclosed.

Some Western intelligence agencies have been skeptical of an alliance between Iran and al-Qaida. But last year the Obama administration directly accused Iran of supporting the terrorist group, a report by the intelligence analysis organization LIGNET revealed in August.

At that time, the United States sanctioned six alleged al-Qaida operatives and accused Iran of allowing them to operate in Iran to conduct operations in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

One of those six was a Syrian known as Yasin al-Sura, leader of al-Qaida in Iran, LIGNET reported.

The Obama administration last year offered a $10 million reward for information leading to al-Sura’s whereabouts, and Iran responded by placing him in protective custody, sources told Sky News.

The website reported that top al-Qaida leader Ayman al Zawahiri is now “believed to be planning a ‘classic’ al-Qaida attack, simultaneously on multiple locations.”

Ron Paul Makes a Huge Leap in Latest Polls

As the Mainstream Media continues Ron Paul behind the limelight as much as possible, things are starting to change. With a Presidential candidate as strong as Dr. Ron Paul, the corporations are encouraging Super-PAC's as a way to change the outcome of this election. Dr. Paul has an extremely strong American spirit, that shows in his constitutionalist fundamentals. He wants to repeal the Patriot Act, NDAA, and SOPA/PIPA, all of which are unconstitutional and deprive us of our in-alienable rights. Paul is explaining the truth to the people, hoping to unite us all, and lead us back in the right direction.

Dr. Paul has been as consistant as the calender with his voting on key issues, he is staying on his side of the fence. Flip-Floppers such as Mitt Romney are shooting themselves in the foot by changing their stance on these issues. The law that was passed January 1st 2012, which removed our rights to a fair trial, as well as allowing them to detain us indefinitely, is an act of Treason on the American Public. Why anyone is remaining to go on with their daily agenda without any respect to these laws is appalling. I am American, and I will do everything in my power to ensure the safety of our future generations. When a civil rights lawyer is ready to file this suit against the politicians who are not protecting the constitution as they swore to upon being elected.

The sole responsibility of our government is to insure the safety of its citizens, and to do whatever it takes to protect our Bill of Rights. When we finally see action against these American traitors, the public deserves some type of justice. Looking back at The Bank Bailout, it was never our decision, but we the people will suffer the consequences of a rogue government. Taking away the rights of the people who are paying your debt is absurd, and inhumane. Well, if we can unite in favor of the 99%, the world would see America for what it really is. I have high hopes I know, but hear me out on this; If you want to experience the holocaust from the Jewish point of view, then just keep living the worthless life of yours. Freedom is a privilege that we will lose if we think the gov't is going to take care of us, because they don't have the means in the budget to continue supporting those of you who have caused more harm to this great country due to their inadequate education levels. Stupidity is a choice and therefore it shouldn't be a legitimate reason for someone to expect cash aide from big brother.
